                           Microsoft India has launched Guardian, a new safety app for Windows Phone on Thursday.Guardian enables users to switch on a track me feature to track  friends and family using Azure cloud services,  Also users call for help through an ‘SOS’ alert button and  connect to  police, hospitals, security agencies in the time of distress via this app. 

Guardian uses Microsoft Windows Azure cloud services and Bing Map APIs .

To use this App , users need to add the names of friends, family members and security groups to the settings and in an emergency situation, the app can be used to alert them, via the SOS button. All the user has to do is tap the SOS button then it will sends a distress SMS to all buddy mobiles with Location, a Microsoft official said.

This app took six months for a IT team of Microsoft employees in India to develop the safety app in the Microsoft , the company said .

The phone can be traced even if it is broken and the application is capable of one touch video recording that may be used later as evidence, says Microsoft India.
